Kitchen Remodeling Highland Park

A fire in the laundry room of this home left the kitchen with a lot of soot damage from thekitchen remodeling hinsdale fire and even more water damage from the sprinkler system.  The homeowners had to see it as an opportunity to redesign their kitchen to create the kitchen they really wanted.  They hoped to create a much more open space that could function on high speed for their family of seven (and two dogs).  They’d been dreaming of a “classic” look that wouldn’t age.

After eliminating a triangular bump into the back wall of the kitchen, the space has a much more open feeling.  The traffic is able to flow better from the kitchen to the eating area and around two large islands.  The hood became a great focal point of the kitchen and houses extra workspace, which allows for easy preparation of every day meals as well as food for entertaining.

We were able to achieve a unique, customized look by mimicking a door style the homeowner had once fallen in love and using it in an inset application.  With paint grade material and a Frosty White finish paired with black granite and white subway tile, the kitchen is timeless.  Details are aplenty from an eleven foot wide hood to a refrigerator and freezer built into a nook, framed in crown, to tall glass display cabinets.  The two large islands command attention and provide ample work space, including a clean up station with a farm sink flanked by two dishwashers.kitchen remodeling highland park
The homeowner are very happy to have the kitchen they always wanted, even though it had to rise up out of a bad situation to get there

Kitchen Remodeling La Grange, IL

These homeowners in La Grange, IL knew an update was overdue for their kitchen.  Although the general layout worked well for them, a few minor adjustments have really maximized the efficiency

of the space.  In their previous kitchen, they had to contend with the table and chairs and walk across the room just to get something from the refrigerator.  By moving it to the same wall with the cook top and sink, a cook can be working in the kitchen and not be interrupted by someone who is eating at the table or passing through the room.  The addition of an island also created more storage and provided a space to put the microwave, which freed up the area to the left of the sink for an appliance garage.  Since the island seats four, there is still ample space for someone to visit with the cook, work on their laptop or even for their family of four to sit down to enjoy a meal together.

Since the kitchen is the hub of the activity when they have family and friends over, as well as one of the first places they go in the morning, they wanted it to be elegant, yet peaceful, in the finishes we chose.  We kept the colors more monochromatic and soothing, while providing plenty of lighting, both within the ceiling and underneath the cabinets.
The new kitchen is a welcoming space for the family and all of their guests.  It is have even stirred up a long forgotten interest in cooking for the homeowner.

Completed Project in Hinsdale, IL

Check out this project we recently finished in Hinsdale! Although the footprint of the house was unchanged, LaMantia's remodeling designs have essentially turned it into a "new house".  We reconfigured the space on the first floor to create a more open environment for family living and relocated their formal dining room to the front of the house.  This work included updating their kitchen, family room, laundry room and powder room.

On the second floor, while the overall configuration of the rooms did not change, the spaces are completely updated, from a remodeled Master Bath and Kids' Bath to a new fa├žade on the Master Bedroom fireplace.  These finishes have transformed the look and feel of the house to reflect the personality of the family that lives within.  This family knew from the beginning the feeling they wanted to project with the finished product and were an integral part of the process every step of the way!

E-mail from a Past Client

Here is an e-mail we recently received from a past client:

Mike - I can't thank you enough for all your help today. John boarded
up the window, which makes me feel much safer (and warmer should we
finally get snow). Rich got me the price quote, so we are all set.

You really take care of your customers, even when their problems are
caused by other people. I can't believe how quickly you and everyone
on your team responded to my cry for help!

I look forward to hearing from you when the window comes in.

Thanks again for everything -

Kathy

West Suburban Living

Our very own Gina Mazzone, CKB, CBD, and Katie Suva, CKD were recently recognized in the West Suburban Living magazine for a project we completed in Oak Brook. Here's a copy of the article:

WHAT THEY WANTED:
After having her kitchen and the other bathrooms in her Oak Brook home revamped, Jane Miller was more than ready to bid farewell to the 1980s styling of her master bath. “It was so dated and ugly - it was really about time for an update,” she says. “I wanted something more elegant and feminine.”

HOW THEY ACHIEVED IT:
To achieve her dream bath, Jane worked with designers Gina Mazzone and Katie Suva from LaMantia Design and Construction, as well as her daughter, Jennifer, who has a knack for interior decor and helped select the wallpaper and furnishings.
Before the remodel, a large sunken tub took up one whole corner of the room. With that eliminated in favor of a freestanding tub, there was a bit more space, but the addition of a tray ceiling accented with rope lighting helped boost the volume of the space as well. Mazzone also borrowed a few feet from an adjacent linen closet in order to add a seated makeup area. Other amenities include a heated floor and countertop cabinets for more storage and display.
Because Jane’s husband, James, has his own adjacent master bath, this space is all hers, and includes such feminine flourishes as a delicate crystal chandelier, floral wallpaper and claw-foot soaker tub. Onyx flooring and counters and maple cabinetry with a creamy finish add to the sophisticated look. “The materials that were used in this bathroom complete the feeling of luxury,” says Mazzone.
Jane agrees. “I have a lot more storage, and it is much more glamorous. I feel special when I go in there because it’s so beautiful.”
